Finca El Tambor is a privately protected nature reserve dedicated to ecological restoration and habitat protection.
Set within a mountainous forest microclimate, the reserve provides refuge for diverse bird species, significant bat colonies, and a rich variety of flora and fauna. Seasonal shifts, migratory patterns and nocturnal wildlife form part of the living landscape.

Important Information
Access to the reserve is limited to accommodation and tour guests aged 12 and above.
All ages are welcome at The Reserve Shop and La Colmena restaurant (located just inside our main entrance).
Pets are not permitted.

Each residence is unique. Recently refurbished under the direction of a sustainability-focused interior designer, the spaces reflect a considered approach to repurposing, recycling and reusing materials wherever possible. Design here is intentional — grounded in resourcefulness, longevity and respect for the environment and our history.
Our turnkey homes include luxury treetop cabins, eco houses, rustic suites and modern studios - each thoughtfully positioned within the reserve.
All residences include a kitchenette, private balcony with direct volcano views and Wi-Fi.
Pack comfortable clothing, walking shoes, binoculars and a good book. During the rainy season, we recommend wellington boots and a rain jacket.
Breakfast and parking are included with direct bookings only and are covered by our price match guarantee.
A two night minimum stay applies during weekends and more during peak weekends and seasons.
